A healthy adult with a slight fever may feel like they’ve been hit with a Mack truck, but a baby with a high fever may sometimes feel pretty comfortable. The reverse of both scenarios can also occur. However Body temperature always varies between several people, with different levels of daily activity, immunity and at different times of the day.

Different Types Of Fever:

Intermittent Fever
This type has a fluctuating baseline between normal temperatures and different fever levels over the course of one day.

Remittent Fever
This type of fever never remains continuous, it may stay for an hour and then go but can come back too and temperature fluctuates, but though it falls, it never falls all the way back to normal.

Hectic Fever
Either an intermittent or a remittent fever could be considered hectic if the body temperature range swings widely, with a difference of at least 1.4 degrees Celsius between the highest and lowest temperature values.

Continuous Fever
Also called a “sustained” fever, this is a prolonged fever with little or no change in temperature values over the course of a day.

Relapsing
This is a type of intermittent fever that spikes up again after days or weeks of normal temperatures. This type of fever is common due to animal bites.
