Explore the Harz with lovingly designed, content-rich maps for hiking, mountain biking, cycling and gravel biking produced on site. Over 270 tour suggestions offer an easy introduction to the extensive network of trails in the Harz. Interaction with our printed cards Schmidt-Buch-Verlag Wernigerode has been producing leisure maps for the Harz region for almost 30 years. In contrast to many classic outdoor apps, we do not use basemaps from third-party providers such as Openstreetmap, but rather generate the maps - printed and digital - entirely from our own database. Despite electronic technology and a dynamic display, the app's maps are designed in our own style familiar from print products. Plan your individual routes using the print editions of our maps and go on tour with the app! This makes hybrid navigation with a map and smartphone a convenient interplay for you: swap the medium – not the content! The right cards for your activities: - Basic map for purists - Hiking map with signposted trails and further recommendations - MTB map with trail levels and descriptions (only Hochharz and south of Goslar) - Bicycle map for touring bikes and gravel bikes Road closures/notes On the maps we show temporarily closed paths, bridges, observation towers, etc. as well as current information that is helpful when preparing for the tour. Our editorial team updates this information regularly. They are also displayed daily on your offline map in the background if you have an existing WiFi connection. Search Our search function helps you to quickly find stamp locations, mountain and cliff names, sights and many other prominent points on the map. The tours that match a search query are also displayed here. Legends Content-specific legends (button “i” at the top right) explain the respective map information in detail, which you can use to plan countless tours of your own. Our map contents: - Signposted main hiking trails as a dashed red line with numbering and marking - Marked circular hiking trails as a continuous red line - other hiking trails as red dotted lines - Theme and long-distance hiking trails as a colored line with name and symbol such as Harzer Hexen-Stieg, Harzer Grenzweg, Selketal-Stieg, Harzer Baudensteig, Karstwanderweg, Harzer Klosterwanderweg etc. - all 222 stamp points of the Harzer Wandernadel (HWN) project with name and number - other HWN special stamp locations with name and number - Refuges, rest and barbecue areas, viewpoints, camping and motorhome parking spaces, sights, indoor swimming pools and outdoor pools, climbing and bike parks, horseback riding, ski lifts, toboggan runs and much more - Signposted cycle paths as a bright purple line such as Harzrundweg, Ilse, Holtemme and Innerste cycle path, Iron Curton Trail, Harz mountain bike arena, Devils Trail - Cycling recommendations as a dark purple line - Cycle paths alongside the road as a dotted line - MTB recommendations as a green line - Signposted MTB paths as a green dashed line Get started right away with our tour suggestions With more than 270 tours you can start straight into the Harz wilderness and cultural landscape. The tours can be combined as desired with the maps – basic map, hiking map, cycling map, MTB map. The tours were developed, tested and implemented by us, our authors and other local partners.
