You want to make an appointment for your next blood donation to avoid long waiting times? Then ask BALU +. The FREE blood donation app of the University Hospital RWTH Aachen for Aachen and local environment offers you an overview of all locations and the respective donation periods. Just click on your desired date and decide whether you would like to be reminded by calendar entry and / or by mail to the appointment. A great service, which comes when called, if you have little free time, but would like to do something good.

BALU + is clever, of course, and takes into account the breaks that must be kept between blood donations - three months for women and two months for men. However, the function only works if you are registered and have entered your gender. If you put your tick in the right place, you will also be notified as soon as you are allowed to donate again. BALU + can do even more!

All functions of BALU + at a glance:

- Appointment: This is THE function of BALU +. Simply register, book an appointment and you're done. Long waiting times for blood donation are history.

- Create your own account: To book an appointment, you have to sign up. When registering, you provide your name, gender and an e-mail address. So BALU + can understand when you can donate again.

- Donation check: BALU + asks you for example how old you are, how much you weigh, whether you are male or female, when you gave blood the last time or if you feel ill. Your answers to these and a few more questions will give you a first indication of whether you are fit for spending. Of course, the blood donor must decide. All information will only be saved on your smartphone.

- Donation check for a friend: Your friend is considering whether he / she should give it a try? Then a first check can provide information, but the visit to the donor does not replace the check.

- Reminder: After the donation is before the donation. BALU + will contact you if you are allowed to donate again.

- Blood donation level: The blood donation level indicates how many people have already donated in each month and how many liters have been collected. So you can see how urgent the need is.

- FAQs: BALU + gives you answers to all the questions you have about the blood donation process: How long does the blood donation take, what should you pay attention to, etc.
