Infectious and parasitic diseases are still important causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. In the last 5 years in our country, according to data from DATASUL, about 300 000 people died due to complications of infectious diseases, in this same period, our health system has spent about 4 billion reais in-hospital treatment of these diseases.
